Junhui (Julia) Chen Junhui (Julia) Chen is a software and cloud engineer building reliable enterprise systems.

Featured Work

Fannie Mae: Enterprise software, from features to production.

I contribute to an internal technology governance platform, connecting backend services, data workflows, and the interfaces people use.

Software Engineering Associate, Cloud Infrastructure
July 2024–present

Software across the stack

My work includes full-stack features, backend services, REST and P2P endpoints, and OpenAPI documentation.

Following the data

I work with Java reporting and data processing, S3 workflows, and complex SQL. When information is inconsistent, I trace it across data loads, services, APIs, and the UI to understand where the issue begins.

Supporting production

My work also includes production releases, patching, and support for AWS EC2 and RDS MySQL infrastructure.

Additional Work

Fannie Mae: Exploring AWS capabilities.

Data Analytics & Engineering Services Intern · June–August 2023

During my internship, I evaluated Amazon Forecast, SageMaker, and Textract. I developed IAM policies and SageMaker Augmented AI functionality, and presented the services’ capabilities and business value.

About

I work in enterprise IT, and I’m building toward technical leadership.

At Fannie Mae, my experience spans Java, SQL, APIs, and AWS infrastructure—from developing features to tracing data issues and supporting production releases. I’m interested in helping teams deliver dependable software.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at The Ohio State University in May 2024, following the Computer Engineering track. I was part of Humanitarian Engineering Scholars and earned first place in the Tech Corps Girls of Color Programming Hackathon.

I’ve been admitted to UC Berkeley’s Master of Information and Cybersecurity program for January 2027. My next step is to deepen my technical foundation while continuing to grow as a software and cloud engineer.

Outside work, I tutor art students, paint, sketch, and edit character scenes.
